Clarkes-Highland News by Craig LoughridgeFire hall ceremonyClarkes-Highland has its new fire hall, and firefighters and community residents celebrated recently with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and barbecue.The gathering at the Clarkes Fire Station on Beavercreek Road, near the street’s intersection with Butte Road, drew nearly 100 officials and staff members from Clackamas County Fire District 1, along with local residents interested in seeing the building that replaced the old fire hall.

Out of the ashesOn Aug. 12, 2009 an overnight fire destroyed the Fir Valley Inn on Highway 211 between Colton and Estacada. It is being rebuilt by Dave and Judy Jimerfield, who sold the business in 2004 after a car accident left Judy seriously injured.
