Patriotic Christmas volunteers began gathering at Molalla Moose Lodge Saturday morning to prepare for the afternoon's packing party. This week, boxes filled with games, cookies, beef jerky and other items will be shipped to troops deployed overseas.
Soldiers spending the holidays thousands of miles from loved ones will once again receive a taste of home from Patriotic Christmas, a local nonprofit dedicated to showing troops they’re remembered and appreciated by citizens.
