A Molalla school bus was rear-ended while transporting students home on Friday afternoon.
No students were injured in a three-vehicle accident involving a Molalla school bus Friday around 3 p.m. on Highway 213 near Macksburg Road.

Kay Hemstreet, regional operations manager for First Student school buses, said the bus was stopping to let a student off when it was rear-ended.

According to Senior Trooper Jason Lindland in a press release from Oregon State Police, the bus stopped on northbound Highway 213 and had its lights flashing. A 2005 Chevrolet pickup driven by Allen Mackey, 69 of Happy Valley, stopped behind the bus and was rear-ended by a 2008 Saturn sports utility vehicle driven by Clair Reidy Keller, 29 of Molalla, pushing the pickup into the bus.

Molalla Fire District Chief Vince Stafford said the driver of the pickup was transported by ambulance with neck pain, but the driver of the car and her child passenger did not require emergency medical attention.

The bus driver, Kari Kuehl, 33 of Molalla, and the 11 students on board were unharmed.

Damage to the bus was minor and it was driven from the scene, according to OSP, but the pickup and Saturn both sustained significant body damage and had to be towed.

According to First Student, the bus was transporting students from Molalla River Middle School.
Highway 213 was partially closed while troopers investigated the collision and cleared the debris.

Keller was cited for careless driving, according to OSP.
