Peggy Savage

Peggy Savage began a career in journalism as city reporter for The Stayton Mail. She later worked as city reporter for the Keizertimes in Keizer, covering the police beat, local and state politics and the community. She also worked for years in public relations and marketing.
After earning a Masters degree in writing at Portland State University, she began working at the Canby Herald as education editor. She became editor of the Molalla Pioneer in November, 2012.
While at PSU, she wrote, as her Masters thesis in 2008, a mystery novel about a small town journalist investigating corruption in city hall and the police department. She still hasn’t gotten around to getting the book published.
The mother of six children, all grown, she enjoys golf, hiking, traveling, gardening, reading and working on historical research. She has also spent years sailing the waters of the Pacific Northwest in a 30-foot sailboat. In her spare time, she is currently working on a new book, a historical novel.
